Cine–Teatro São João Exhibition

The Cine–Teatro São João will feature in the Foyer, one of the Palmela 2011 — International Panoramic Photography Festival exhibitions. This exhibition will open to the public on June 3 and will close at the end of the festival on August 31.

About the Cine–Teatro São João:

Opened in 1952, this cultural facility played, for several years, an important role in the cultural life of Palmela, finally closing its doors in 1981. The Municipality of Palmela bought it in 1989 in order to return it to its role as a cultural space and reopened its doors in 1991. It has established itself as an important community resource, mainly to the education community, artists, creators and local cultural projects.

Situated in the heart of Palmela, Cine–Teatro São João is a harmonious and spacious building, rich in decorative details. With two floors and a terrace, an auditorium with a seating capacity of 480 (plus 10 for people with reduced mobility), a bar, dressing rooms, storage room and support for the stage. It also has ample spaces for circulation, adaptable for exhibitions and training courses in various artistic areas.
